How to Create a Product Bundle on Squarespace: Step-by-Step Guide (with Checklist)
1. Introduction to Product Bundling
You’re probably here because you know the power of product bundling, but if not, here’s a quick definition:
Product bundling is a marketing strategy that sells multiple products or services together for better consumer value than purchasing separately. This approach boosts sales, promotes new offerings, enhances customer satisfaction, and encourages trying multiple products.
2. Understanding the Use Case
While Squarespace does allow you to have add-ons, it does not allow you to put together two distinct products into a bundle. In our case, we wanted to help our client provide both the digital and print version of their book. This meant we needed the following:
A way for digital version to be instantly delivered, and
The delivery address for the print version
3. Setting Up the Workaround
Step 1: Create a Digital Product
You must start with a digital product so that customers can get the instant download.
Step 2: Collect Shipping Information
Use custom forms to gather necessary shipping details (name, address, phone number).
4. Common Mistakes to Avoid
Starting with a Physical Product
If you start with a Physical product, there is no way for that instant digital download to occur. We made this mistake so you don’t have to.
5. Detailed Setup Process (Checklist)
Step 1: Duplicate the Digital Product or Create a New Digital Product: Check the title and description
Step 2: Edit Product Details: Update the details to reflect the bundle, update SEO and custom URL as well
Step 3: Set Up Pricing: Ensure the pricing aligns with both products, ideally it should be a deal
Step 4: Create and Apply a Custom Form: you’ll use this for collecting shipping information.
Step 5: Add Images: Use images that represent both digital and physical products effectively.
Step 6: Publish the Bundle: Ensure all edits are saved and the product is published.
Step 7: Test the Purchase Process: Walkthrough of the purchasing process to ensure functionality.
This should work until Squarespace comes up with a native solution. Hope it helps!
